Join TechPoint for the next New Economy New Rules seminar, presented by Barnes & Thornburg LLP on Friday, September 7th from 8:00 - 9:30 AM for a discussion on the New Tech High program.
Business, education and government leaders across the state agree… Indiana’s high school students are not adequately prepared for success in higher education or the workplace. Unacceptable test scores and graduation rates are two indicators of a more basic issue that impacts the future of every Hoosier community. Indiana’s long-term economic success depends on an emerging workforce with the 21st Century skills necessary to compete in an increasingly global marketplace.
This fall, a new approach to 21st Century education in Indiana is being launched at New Tech High programs at Arsenal Tech and Decatur High Schools in Indianapolis, and in Rochester Indiana. New Tech High is a real-world project-based curriculum, developed by educators and the business community that is now in thirty schools in eight states. The New Tech High Indiana initiative is the result of a unique statewide partnership between Indiana leaders in K-12 education, higher education, government and business. Its mission is to create successful, replicable models of 21st Century education for Indiana’s rural, suburban and urban high schools.
The September New Economy New Rules panelists will discuss the creation and current status of the New Tech High Indiana initiative, and its impact and importance to Indiana’s economic development.
